What a guarantee covers
A treatment guarantee typically covers re-treatment of knotweed that regrows within the property boundary during the guarantee period — usually five to ten years from the date of final treatment.
Insurance-backed guarantees
Some guarantees are backed by an insurance policy, meaning that if the original contractor ceases trading, the guarantee continues to be valid and a different contractor will be appointed. Not all guarantees are insurance-backed.
Limitations
Guarantees typically apply only to the treated area and to knotweed within the property boundary. They do not cover regrowth from neighbouring land or knotweed discovered elsewhere that was not included in the original treatment.
